Derricos Family

Doubling Down with the Derricos is a show on the TLC network. Parents Karen and Deon Derrico have 14 kids total. Which includes 3 sets of twins, 2 sets of quintuplets. My key take away from this job was that Karen and Deon are wonderful parents and all 14 of their children were so well behaved for how long everyone had to be on-set. I did not actually pick the wardrobe for this shoot. I was hired to unpack boxes, and prep merchandise, and take charge of the wardrobe on the day of. Usually I would want to say no to a job like this because essentially I am the middle man. For example some of the talent didn’t like what they were wearing, but it was my job to solve that problem, which I am great at having backup options when I style out a job. The night before the shoot I had to pull wardrobe that the talent liked but then the client had to approve. In my experience for the talent to feel their best and turn it on for the camera they have to feel good. If you give real people clothing they don’t like, it comes thru in the camera.
