Styling a Amazon Home Shoot

I thought this shoot was going to be fairly easy, well I was wrong. The fashion played 2nd fiddle to the looks of Amazon’s home furniture products. Finding the right shades of blend-in and not be too noticeable were not the easiest to find in the dead of winter. I was in the mall three days in a row for the simple shots below. With all that said, the sets were bananas. Furniture was floating in the air, pictures were getting hung on the spot, and there was so much furniture on stand-by. I felt for the art department, returning sofas seems not so fun.

Working with both Amazon’s Home creative director and the client OKAYBRO made for an overall fun couple days. The set included hip hop music, vegetarian food options, cool people, which I would call a chill team, and photographer Ian Coble. I knew both the MUA used Lindsay Watkins and Sara Swain which I wished I got to work with more often.

Amazon being based in Seattle is awesome on shoots like this. We shot at Pacific Grip & Lighting which I have never shot at before. Apparently that’s where all the movies shoot when in Seattle.
